Before and after of the entry and handrail...over the years the natural stucco had become grotty to the point that you did not want to touch it... The coppery gold turned to to be just right.

Here you can see a layer of the stucco being applied.

On with the stucco restoration

Villa Vigia has lots of cracks and imperfections due to
the slimy weather and periodic temblors
The bulk of the work will be done in the dining room and entry.

The dining room color is called "colmillo de elefante" which is elephant tusk in english.

Well of Desires

I saw this great piece of art in the window of Museo TEOR/etica last week.
The title is " Pozo de Los Deseos" and appears to be made of re-cycled folded clothes-hanger wrappers,or at least that is what the attendant on duty and I decided. The artist is Cecelia Paredes, from Peru and Costa Rica.

There is a pad of paper and a pen for recording your wish and casting it into the well....
This is a great little museum that has a nice and concise collection of contemporary Costa Rican art...

Well worth the visit and you can also visit the related gallery across the street and then visit Kiosko to see what's up in contemporary craft and design and grab a bite at the outpost of Kalu located inside. Museo TEOR/etica is located 400 meters north of the Kiosko del Parque Morazon in Barrio Amon.

Back in The Saddle...

Sort of.
The Conch returns with the aim of advising friends, clients, and similarly interested parties of our projects, goings ons, and other items of interest.

You may recall the limited edition of " Vacas de Mimbre"
we have been working on. We have just added a more block- headed and therefore more ferocious shape to the herd. Seeming somehow more masculine, the block-heads will from now on take the bull names and the rounder , sweeter countenances will be gals...

Hope everyone is OK with that...

So here we have: Jota, Pelocho, and Donovan.
These look great in our darker stains, We will post one soon.
